guess what! Jane Goodall is giving a public lecture at my university on July 19. how exciting, to think that someone so great is coming to sleepy little Canberra.

i'm hoping i'll be able to attend, the next month looks like it'll be a little busy. my research project (on ERG retinal rod bipolar cell responses) is due on August 4, which also happens to be the day that Franny's trip to Australia ends. i've already met up with her in Sydney for a few days, and she's made the trek out to Canberra, but hopefully i can take a weekend to meet her on the coast somewhere - preferably somewhere hot.

the last lecture i can remember going to was Mae Jemison back at UofT. that feels like ages ago, but i can still remember how amazing her talk was, and how amazing she is - engineer, doctor and astronaut. wow!!
