speak of the devil

aww!!! it's so nice to have comments. it means that someone out there actually likes me. :D i'm so happy.

so tonight i went to my friend's 2nd engagement party. Giovanna got engaged a few weeks back when she was back home in Melbourne. the night she got back, a bunch of us girls went out to celebrate. this time, her fiance's in town, so we had another go. she wants him to meet all her close friends, cuz he'll be moving up here to live after they get married next year.

anyway, Steve's a pretty cool guy. only like 23 yrs old, and already has his own music school with 60 students and 3 instructors working for him. i find it so incredible that people so young are doing such big things and are making such serious decisions.

this one girl at the table, who's a second year med student, told me she hadn't known i was Canadian until she heard me speak. haha!! this immediately made me think of that lawyer-chick, cuz one of the things she had said to me was that i had lost some of my "Canadian accent" - her knowing me for all of 30 minutes, since ALL people who come to Australia lose their accent. i told her i had my brother check my accent, and he confirmed that it hadn't changed - she said "well then, he's just biased."

Ouch! What a b*tch!! HAhaha, this was just a taste of the attitude she gave me.
so anyway, after this 2nd year girl said that, i turned to Fred and said, "see! she thinks i have an accent." he was like, "of course you do!" even Steve said that my accent had not changed since i met him months before (i told you he's a good guy).

right after my b*tch session was over, that girl walks into the restaurant with her boyfriend and Jess. the whole 5 minutes they were there, i couldn't even look in her direction. she scares me too much, i was almost shaking.

now what are the chances of her coming in while we're talking about her?! i guess it's just an indication of how small Canberra is, or maybe it's God telling me to watch what i say.

i bought a Tokyo travel book today. i hope this means that i'm going to Tokyo afterall. it looks like i'll only be there for a few days on my way home. if things go according to plan, i should be back December 14 or 15 - not quite sure with the time changes. how good will it be to be home again? :D i'm so excited!!
