far far away

i just spent a weekend in Sydney, which i have to admit is one of the most beautiful places in the world. everytime i see the harbour with the Opera House, the bridge, the water, and the beautiful sunshine, something inside of me melts. i can't believe i actually "live" here. i think i'd like to be based in Sydney for my internship year before coming home, IF i can come home...

so i met up with my high school friend Enrica, who's visiting from Japan. i actually spent some time with her in TO over the Christmas break. i don't know if it's me, but it feels like she's changed... a lot. maybe i didn't know her as well as i used to, but it really feels like her motivation/direction in life has changed. and as always, since it doesn't conform to my beliefs, i'm feeling a sense of discomfort/resentment towards it.

either way, it was great to see a familiar face. it was great to see the sights. and it was great to eat chinese food again. i bought some bao to take back to Canberra with me. no, they don't have that kinda stuff available here.

i also made it to Bondi for the first time. it's not bad, it's my second trip to the beach since coming back to Australia this year. monthly beach trips are great! i should get a proper beach towel and bag, and make it a routine.

anyway, i better do my bit to catch up on my work. i just went to a tutorial and was LOST. i feel like such a slacker, but i'm gonna do my bit to change that this year. oh! i also gave up french fries... don't know how long that'll last though.
